Aloha Pō’alima

May 1 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Come join us for kanikapila and celebration of Hawaiian music, language and culture.

This Aloha Friday falls on MAY DAY, which is Lei Day in Hawai’i. WEAR A LEI!

And if you are not familiar with the song “May Day is Lei Day in Hawai’i – STUDY UP! (Listen to the Halekulani Girls on YouTube)

We will start playing music at 1:00pm (song circle style) using Aloha Friday music from the website.

The room is booked from 12:30 – 3:30. Bring a snack to share and talk story after we put down our ‘ukuleles.

The concept of Lei Day was introduced in 1927 by writer Don Blanding and formalized in 1928 to encourage the tradition of wearing and giving lei, a symbol of Aloha.
